On December 13, retired Lieutenant General Mike Jeffery, Colonel Commandant of the Royal Canadian Artillery, and Lieutenant-General Stuart Beare, had the honor of starting the celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. On this occasion the Queen received a beautiful diamond brooch.

Designed and built by one of the biggest names in Canadian jeweler, Birks, based in Montreal, the design of this jewelry is inspired by the insignia worn by members of the Royal Regiment of Canadian Artillery. You can see a cannon in profile, the wheel features the number 60 as the years of the reign of His Majesty and the whole is surmounted by a crown studded with emeralds, rubies and sapphires, also in the background there is a maple leaf, symbol of Canada. It is yellow and white gold of 18 carats and 21.
